Unfortunately the copyright owners didn't agree with that and made me shutdown the entire site. The biggest success of the site was the Calvin and Hobbes Strip Search, which received thousands of visitors every single day.
I want to thank for all your visits and nice comments. I've received hundreds of emails because of this shutdown; thanks for all the nice comments! It would take way too much time to reply to all of them, so don't think I don't read them. I've read every single one of them and appreciate your comments.

Wallpapers
I got lots of mails from people asking me to put some Windows
backgrounds and icons online, so I decided to put some here.
The first ones are below, the backgrounds
are in .gif format and two sizes (640*480 and 800*600).
To set one of the pictures as your background, load the .gif image you
want, right-click with your mouse on the picture and choose "Set As
Wallpaper" (Netscape and Internet Explorer).
Icons
Here are some icons you can use to add to your desktop.
NEW! Some more icons were sent to me by Eric Hilliard. In fact, the zip file contains
85 icons and 3 animated cursors. The icons are rather large, but look alright.

Startup and shutdown logo's
The next .zip file contains a Startup logo and Shutdown logo's for
Windows95. Unzip this file and place the logow.sys and the
logos.sys
files in your Windows directory (save the old files as logow.old and
logos.old in case you want to restore them at another time).
Place the logo.sys file in your root directory on C:\.

Macintosh downloads
Here are two Macintosh binhexed stuffed archives with Calvin & Hobbes
Icons and Desktop Patterns. You have to download and unpack them in
order to be able to use them !
To download them please use the "save as..." option for links in
your browser. Read your manual how to do that, please don't ask me.
Or configure your browser so that it recognizes binhex archives.
You can do this in the Preferences:Helper Applications. Again read
the manual.
Again, this are binhexed stuffed archives for the APPLE MACINTOSH
ONLY. If you have no idea what I'm talking about you'd better
NOT download.
- Icons
(all icons are on folders. Select info on folder, click icon in left top and copy, than select info on item
you want icon on, click icon in left top and paste. Voila.)
- Desktop Patterns
(after translation and decompression a Texture Installer 2.1 file remains. Get TI from the archives
or use your favorite pattern installer for this.)
Random C&H quote each time you start Windows
The next application shows you a random Calvin and Hobbes quote each time it
is executed. You can add it easily to your startmenu and get a random quote
each time you start Windows. Just click the "Add to startmenu" button in the
program.
The program is for Windows 95/98, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Click here
to download the self-extracting zip file. Run it, specify a directory
(default is c:\quotes) and run calvin.exe.
CalvinAmp skin for Winamp
If you use Winamp for listening to, for instance, MP3 files, you
might like the following Winamp skin, made and sent to me by John McWilliams. Click the picture to
download.
Joe Hardy has also made a Winamp skin with Calvin and Hobbes.
It also includes a nice design for the playlist, equalizer and minibrowser.

Calvin and Hobbes True Type Font
I spent lots of time creating it, but finally here it is: the Calvin and Hobbes True Type font.
Below is an example of it. As you can see there is a regular and an outline version.
Before downloading, you must agree with the following rules:
- This font may be used and spread freely as long as it is not modified in any way
- If this font is used for any website or homepage, you must include a credit
notice, including a link to this site. Besides that, since Calvin
and Hobbes is copyright Bill Watterson, a copyright note would
be appropriate.

For some variation like in the word "Hobbes" above, try typing with
some capitals (hobBes)...
Calvin and Hobbes Birthday Calendar
Now completely available for download: The Calvin and Hobbes Birthday Calendar.
The files are quite large, but that's because of the really high quality of
the images, so that they look very good when you print them on a color printer.

Bill Watterson's Writing True Type Font
A Calvin and Hobbes fan has sent me a True Type Font (TTF) he created. It's the same lettering as Bill Watterson's used for the text in the Calvin and Hobbes comics. I'm sure this will come in very handy for the people on the forum involved in the Calvin and Hobbes 2 animation project!

Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons
Eric Hoang has sent in a game he made. His comments:
Calvin and Hobbes: Attack of the Deranged Mutant Killer Monster Snow Goons is my fourth Game Maker game (actually...it's only my second FINISHED game, but...). It's a overhead shooter based around the comic strip Calvin and Hobbes, by Bill Watterson. I finished it in under a week (everything; conceptual planning on paper, custom sprites, finding/selecting midis, wavs, and Bill Watterson art, coding, beta testing, uploading the final version to the internet) over my Winter break in 2003. I'm pretty proud of this game cause I think it's a lot more polished and fun than my last game, Chrono Trigger Arcade. Also, I did the coding for this one entirely by myself, without anyone else's help (although I did use two other people's scripts to do the pause and the energy bars).
Features include:
* Custom graphics (with the exception of Bill Watterson art)
* 4 different weapons + 2 environment based weapons
* High Scores Tracking
